Book Review: "Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less” By Greg McKeown

I recently had time to read “Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less” by Greg McKeown and you will find it an excellent read if you can identify with any of these statements from it:

  • Have you ever found yourself stretched too thin?

  • Do you simultaneously feel overworked and underutilized?

  • Are you often busy but not productive?

  • Do you feel like your time is constantly being hijacked by other people’s agendas?

  • If you answered “yes” to any of these, the way out is the way of the Essentialist.

I have given a presentation to a number of Women’s Networks that focuses on being overloaded, overwhelmed and overlooked and ways to avoid these challenges. One of the key ways is to learn to say “no” and Greg McKeown and I are on the same page on that. He gives many examples of very successful business people being as successful as they are precisely because they learned to say “no” effectively. Read the book, I think you’ll enjoy it.

If you recognize that you are struggling like that hummingbird from my last post or in fact you are overloaded, overwhelmed and overlooked, then get in contact with me. There is no time like the present to take action and change the way your future is going to unfold. Be smart like the hummingbird from my last post, if someone reaches out to help you, grab their hand.
